Jerome Guichard

was born in Nancy, where he also studied at the conservatory. In 1988 and 1989 he was awarded first prizes in oboe and chamber music at the Paris Conservatory. There followed a string of international competition awards, including most prominently a triumph at the Tokyo International Competition in 1991.

He ranks among the world´s leading oboe players, regularly appearing with French and international orchestras (Orchestre de Paris, Orchestre National, Orchestre de l´Opéra de Paris, WDR Rundfunkorchester Köln, and others). He has worked with such prominent composers as Witold Lutoslawski (1993), György Ligeti (2000), Luciano Berio (2001), and others.

In 1988 he was made a professor and started to lecture at the Conservatoire National de Nancy, and subsequently at the Conservatoire de Lyon.
